In 1939, Tommy Godwin cycled an amazing 75,065 miles / 120,805 km in a calendar year, a record that still stands to this day. It took around 18 hours cycling per day, racking up over 200 miles on average. He broke the previous record of 65,127 miles in ten months and continued past the twelve months to break the 100,000 mile record after 500 days in the saddle!
